Bubba tried to kill me today

All summer, Bubba and I have been saying that we're going to ride our bikes all the way to the pool one day, swim and dive, then ride all the way home.

This would be a huge undertaking, so we've put it off all summer. Until this week.

Wednesday, we packed the bikes in the van, drove half-way to the pool, and rode our bikes up the bike trail there. We swam and dove, then biked back to the van. Then we rested. It was perfect. We got tired at just the right point, but we weren't exhausted. We were challenged and succeeded.

Today, we did it with Hubby. It was so much fun! I wish we had done it sooner, but I was afraid of the oppressive Kansas heat, and its effect on Bubba (and me).

And since it's the end of summer, Bubba tried to kill me. He made me go off the high dive. No I didn't actually dive. I didn't even jump really.

I walked off the board. I'm so scared of heights. I was so nervous, I didn't even hear Bubba cheering me on.

The only good thing I can say about it was that I didn't hurt myself. But I could definitely live without getting water shot up my nose, thank you very much.

I'm gonna really miss summer at the pool with Bubba. Hubby went with him twice as much as I did, and he's already missing it.

    I'm sad summer is over.

You went off the high diving board?! OMG. You're braver than I am.

Summer won't be over here until November. It is still miserably hot and humid. Oh. And there is a hurricane headed straight for us. Lovely.
