    V-Day

You may or may not know that I have varicose veins. They're kinda bad, although not as bad as my dad's and nowhere near as bad as my brother's.

But they're pretty ugly and they cause me grief, so I'm getting them removed tomorrow.

I got the veins on my left leg taken out when I was twenty-six (twenty years ago!), after Bro was born. They actually knocked me out, made many incisions and removed them completely.

This time, they'll be using lasers to seal up the small ones, and they'll remove the big ones and the clusters through a small catheter.

No stitches, no incisions, no general anesthesia - just punctures. No scarring.

They told me I could go to work the next day, but I'm calling in sick anyway - Blondie's coming for a visit!

I still should be able to coach Friday and Saturday, and have fun with my girl while she's here.

But then again - why would they give me forty vic0din for pain?

    Wish me luck!

They give you the pain killers for a reason. I'm glad that progress has been made in vein surgery, but it's still surgery, and it's still painful after the drugs wear off. Stay off your feet. Please try to take it easy. And religiously wear the surgical stockings. Talk to you later. Love, Mom

Maybe the drugs are a reward for going through with it? ;)

Good luck tomorrow! I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I'm sure it'll all go smoothly. You'll be back in miniskirts in no time. I can't believe how advanced they've become. Maybe our brother will do it if it's not too bad for you.

I see how it is. You picked this weekend so I could change your hose!
